How to advertise yourself online

How to advertise yourself online

We are living in times when everybody use mobile phone and internet 24/7 and from perspective of the social network , people who  got no website or Facebook are socially not active and will simply not exist in this network
So how to advertise yourself or your business online?

Websites like about.me are very good to share some information about yourself

https://about.me

Facebook Pages are great to build your portfolio

https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/?ref_type=sitefooter

Twitter

https://www.twitter.com

Instagram

http://www.instagram.com

Google +

https://www.plus.google.com

creating a blog is a not bad idea at all ( share your work, share photos )

https://www.blogger.com/

As a hairdresser, the most important thing what we should have is a mobile phone and our number should be available online

Our friends are the first who will see what we will post online and they will get more info what we do and what service we can offer to them so later they can refer us to their own friends and family members

Remember : don't share your date of birth with anyone
don't share too much information about your personal life
be professional and share only information about your work ( your portfolio )

You can earn extra income from selling your designs here
Just register, upload your files and start to get extra income from your sale.

The Sellfy website is a great tool to spread info about your work around the world :)

There is one more way to advertise your work by printing a book with your showcase / portfolio

check my post here to get more details

Occupational asthma in a hairdressing salon

Occupational asthma in a hairdressing salon
As a young student I don't know what chemicals are inside hairdressing products and the college is not providing enough information about it
I have to read about the ingredients on the product's package but some of the products has so small boxes, bottles so the ingredient's list is written in small letters and is almost impossible to read it

As a curious person I done some research about this subject

Persulphates salts are found in  bleach. This salt is a powerful oxidant. Many companies make now bleach dust free so this is so good when you have to work with this product.

Hairdressers should be very careful using products like bleach or tint or even hair sprays

( more info about amount of salts in hairdressing products you can find in document below, page 3 )

Consequences of not using protective equipments like mask or not having propare ventilation at work

The truth is that there is no other way to lighten your hair you will have to use bleach if the hair was coloured dark before
The lemon juice is good but you will not get so quick result with lemon juice.

On the market you can buy bleach from Wella, Schwazkop or L'oreal
Their products contain salts but if I am not wrong those products are dust free

ok so now the conclusion

as a hairdresser
when handling the bleach or tint products use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) gloves, apron, mask

as a client
Do not use bleach on the scalp or regrowth instead do highlights and do it in salon , the hairdresser will use foils to protect your scalp

Work at home - Hairdresser

Work at home - Hairdresser

This post I would like to dedicate to all Hairdressers who would like to have they own home studio but they don't like the industrial look of hairdressing furniture.
I think all industrial hairdressing chairs are great and don't mind buy one for myself but because my flat is small I can't have a studio at home at this moment.
If I buy hairdressing chair it will look not to good in my flat
So I done some research and I found nice chair in Ikea which one can be use as a office chair and can be use by young hairdressers like me

The name of the chair is SKRUVSTA
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20280033/

The price is 100 Pounds but is very nice solid chair
You can adjust the high as well

I was thinking if I will have to colour the hair and I would recommend use long gown so you can cover your client's clothes and the chair as well

Anyway I love this chair

The Seat depth is  45 cm so you can have access to your client's neck and easy

cut A-line Bob.

The chair look great inside the house and my guests will never think that I am using it to cut the hair.

Another thing what I found in IKEA is a trolley
The name of the trolley is RÅSKOG
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50227973/

Easy you can storage your brushes, hair dryer, combs and pins or rollers

I really like this product
It is a cheaper option compering to hairdressing industrial furnitures

I know that the design is maybe not the prettiest one but the price is good

Let me know what do you think and what you maybe use for your own home business
